Properties:

1. Sorbitol powder, white odorless crystalline powder, has a sweet taste, has the water absorbability. Melting point 85-105℃，Boiling point 295℃. Soluble in water (235 g / 100 g water, 25 ℃), glycerin, propylene glycol, slightly soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetic acid, phenol and acetamide solution. Almost insoluble in most other organic solvents.

2. 70% Sorbitol liquid, was viscous transparent liquid, optical activity, slightly sweet, with hygroscopicity.

Sorbitol liquid have Crystalline grade and Non-Crystalline Grade(at -18℃,48 hours no crystallization).

Application:

1. Sorbitol as excipient in toothpaste, moisturizing factor, antifreeze, join up to 25~30%,can keep the paste and smooth, colour and lustre, good taste; As dry agent in cosmetics(instead of glycerin),can strengthen the extension of emulsifier and lubricity, for long-term storage; Sorbitan fatty acid ester and ethylene oxide adduct possesses the advantages of small irritating to the skin, is widely used in the cosmetics industry.

2. Add sorbitol in food can prevent dry food, to keep the food fresh and soft. Used in bread cake, has the obvious effect. Sorbitol is lower than sucrose sweetness, and not by certain bacteria use, is the production of sugar-free candies and important raw materials of various kinds of dental caries prevention food.

3. Sorbitol production material can be used as a vitamin C; Can also be used as a syrup, injection infusion, pharmaceutical raw materials, as a drug of the compressor dispersing agent, filling agent, cryoprotectants, crystallizing agent, Chinese medicine capsule plasticizer, stabilizer, wetting agent, sweeteners, cream base, etc.
